I also recently purchased a gf2 and have been using a Sandisk Extreme 30MB/S 16 GB class 10 SDHC I'm quite satisfied with it.

I got the same card as Hudsonhites, but in 8GBs and I've had no problems with it yet.
When I was using Compact Flash cards with older cameras I used SanDisk and never had problems. SanDisk and Kingston are pretty safe bets with me.

Go for class 10, sandisk are good but can be expensive (cheaper sandisk may be a clone! beware)
Panasonic gold cards are also high quality but equally expensive.
8gig is plenty big enough, buy more if you need more.
I have Sandisk, Kingston, Samsung and some cheapo's not had a card go bad on me yet.....but!!!
Avoid the cheap end, no matter what make, if money is a problem go middle of road pricewise.
Amazon is a good place for memory as is etc

Think of memory like wine - a £3.00 bottle of wine is £2.50 tax £0.50 wine
a £6.00 bottle is still £2.50 tax £3.50 wine - which would you rather drink???
  5. I'm a Sandisk snob. It's been a long, long time since I've used any other brand!

+1 on Sandisk. Been using it for all my Canon bodies and an 8gb class 6 for my coming GF2. Congrats on your new GF2!

Had some luck with the Lexar 32gb SDHC class 10 card, larger card size helps with number of shots when shooting raw, otherwise 8 or 16 will be fine.
