I am super excited to have my new EP-2! Reminds me of shooting my Mamiya 6 back in the day.

In playing around with shooting some black and white RAW (ORF) images, I discovered something strange (to me). I'm on a Mac, running OSX, and have the Finder window set to "View Items as Icons" which looks like slides on a light box.

Everything looks normal at that point. The black and white images are lined up in rows as black and white miniatures. However, when I attempt to open them, they are in color.

The camera came with a CD labeled "Windows." I typically use aperture to manage my photos. Thanks in advance for your input! I've already learned a ton from this forum.

Normal. Your Mac displays first a low quality, low resolution preview (jpeg) embedded in the ORF, created in camera with all settings applied.

Then, when you open the file, you see the RAW data, complete with colours.

Another Mamiya 6 person! I really miss that camera some days. :)
