Hello ladies and gentlemen, after the last 72 hr challenge I'm pleased to communicate the new theme: Hands.
As usual you have about 72 hr to post a picture; the rules remain the same so, please, post all the hands you like.
I look forward to see your entries!
    Cheers
    Marco

Here's my contribution to kick things off. I'm a bit surprised I have something to contribute to this one, but it so happens there was one shot that jumped immediately to mind

This is a shot of my friend's hand taken on an overnight camping trip. He's a talented photographer as well as a full-time wood carver, using only hand tools. My other friend on the trip with us is a blacksmith & knife maker, and we were comparing the similarities in the calluses on their hands from swinging hammers and axes and working with other hand tools on a daily basis.

My friends and I were waiting around for the rest of the group, so we decided to take some random pics. This was one of them. :)

Here's a self-portrait I did where only the camera (and to a lesser extent my hands) are in focus....

Sorry, I couldn't find the rules thread. Is it necessary that photograph should have been made with micro four thirds gear? I have a few photographs but they were all made with my old canon gear.

Well, the original contest thread was meant to showcase what micro four thirds gear can do. But of course, the current judge has the final say as to what the rules are. The original rules were 2 photographs per person, archived photos are fine. Hope this helps.

I unfortunately don't have any photos of hands but will see if I can get one of my co-workers to help me out with this one. Great entries thus far.

Here are the rules posted by yekimrd (you can have a look at other genres; september 14th 2012):

This site has a huge cohesive community of photographers at all skill levels. And yet I find it surprising that apart from the Mu Salon (which is wonderful btw), there are no other active, ongoing photo challenge threads. While the image threads are great, I want to see something that highlights awesome photos from the Mu43 community.

So I propose a 72-Hour Blue Ribbon Challenge.

As the title suggests, each challenge lasts for 72-Hours. Everyone gets to submit 2 photos in line with the chosen theme. The winner of the previous challenge gets to choose the new theme (topics can be anything under the sun) and serves as the judge for his/her 72-hour challenge.

For obvious purposes, the judge is disqualified from participating in his/her own 72-hour challenge. Instead, he/she should post up to 2 photos as examples to start out the challenge. Should the winner not be able to commit to being the next judge, the responsibility is passed on to the runner-up.

At the end of the 72-hours (we don't have to be strict about 72-hours, especially with time differences depending on where you are on the globe), the judge will name a blue ribbon winner, a runner-up, and 1 honorable mention. As we all know, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. We may not all agree with the chosen winners; the judge is encouraged (but not required) to state what criteria he used to decide on a winner.

To make sure we don't break any Mu43 rules/regulations, by participating in this thread you are allowing the judge to repost your image for the sole purpose of announcing the winners for "Your Best Shot: A 72-hour Blue Ribbon challenge."
