Hiya kids! Well it's time for another Challenge! I feel honored to host this great challenge series yet at the same time apprehensive. This has been a pretty long running series and it's covered quite a wide range of subjects. Now I find myself searching for a subject that's fresh yet accessible enough for most members to participate in. Well since it's my challenge I'll just pick something I like right? I looked through my flickr favorites to see what it is that catches my eye most often, and I think I've distilled it to one single element.

Style. I like photos with style. What does that mean? It can be general and it can be specific. That's what I like about it, it's somewhat intangible yet it's there. Perhaps it's they way the photographer leaves his or her personal touch on the photo. Maybe it's the subject matter, or the way you like to process. It doesn't matter. Show me your style.

Please refer to the comprehensive list of previous topics and winners via the links below:

    72 Hour Challenge Rules

As the title suggests, each challenge lasts for 72 hours. Everyone gets to submit 2 photos in line with the chosen theme. The winner of the previous challenge gets to choose the new theme (topics can be anything under the sun) and serves as the judge for his/her 72-hour challenge.

For obvious purposes, the judge is disqualified from participating in his/her own 72-hour challenge. Instead, he/she should post up to 2 photos as examples to start out the challenge. Should the winner not be able to commit to being the next judge, the responsibility is passed on to the runner-up.

At the end of the 72-hours (we don't have to be strict about 72-hours, especially with time differences depending on where you are on the globe), the judge will name a blue ribbon winner, a runner-up, and 1 honorable mention. As we all know, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. We may not all agree with the chosen winners; the judge is encouraged (but not required) to state what criteria he used to decide on a winner.

To make sure we don't break any Mu43 rules/regulations, by participating in this thread you are allowing the judge to repost your image for the sole purpose of announcing the winners for the 72-hr Blue Ribbon Challenge.

Thanks for taking the lead, Vin! Hmm... this one sounds like a very interesting challenge. But I don't think I've quite developed my own style yet. Lemme think about it and get back to you. Can't wait to see what other people's entries are though. Care to share with us a couple of examples about what your style is?

Too high concept? Guys just look through your photos and find one you find 'stylish'. Or go out and shoot a stylish photo of a stylish person. Don't think too hard on this one.

2 photos were one has style and one potentially has style in a future role.

    I'll bite :)

There's one of the styles I like, strong colours, abstract strongly geometric shapes:

    E-M5    OLYMPUS M.12mm F2.0    12mm    f/8.0    1/50s    ISO 200

And then there's the style I often find myself shooting, much softer colours and more natural shots:

    E-M5    LEICA DG SUMMILUX 25/F1.4    25mm    f/3.5    1/60s    ISO 200

Consider me a photographer who's conflicted about style.

I am going to take this one as personal style, and submit a photo of my wife, from when a large group of us got dressed up for Carnival. Definately "stylish".

This is a pretty tough challenge. I picked a street shot taken recently because I like the processing style, as well as the strong geometry of the pedestrian crossing contrasting against the two stylish ladies j-walking... (I think I'm losing my point...)
