Glad to post up a challenge this time round. Thanks to foxtail1 for the prompt

The theme shall be Light Trails

Here's one example of light trails (though it doesn't need to be moving cars all the time:smile:)

    7372305990_78dd91025e_c.

Please refer to the comprehensive list of previous topics and winners via the link below:

    https://www.mu-43.com/f48/72-hour-challenge-hall-fame-2012-a-35382/

Have fun! Winner shall be announced on 10th Jan noon US time.

    72 Hour Challenge Rules

As the title suggests, each challenge lasts for 72 hours. Everyone gets to submit 2 photos in line with the chosen theme. The winner of the previous challenge gets to choose the new theme (topics can be anything under the sun) and serves as the judge for his/her 72-hour challenge.

For obvious purposes, the judge is disqualified from participating in his/her own 72-hour challenge. Instead, he/she should post up to 2 photos as examples to start out the challenge. Should the winner not be able to commit to being the next judge, the responsibility is passed on to the runner-up.

At the end of the 72-hours (we don't have to be strict about 72-hours, especially with time differences depending on where you are on the globe), the judge will name a blue ribbon winner, a runner-up, and 1 honorable mention. As we all know, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. We may not all agree with the chosen winners; the judge is encouraged (but not required) to state what criteria he used to decide on a winner.

To make sure we don't break any Mu43 rules/regulations, by participating in this thread you are allowing the judge to repost your image for the sole purpose of announcing the winners for the 72-hr Blue Ribbon Challenge.

This shot was done using 2.5 second exposure while moving the zoom fast at the end of the exposure to make light trails.

I'll excuse myself from the challenge due to this not being a M43 photo, however I thought I'd share it anyway.

I'm not sure whether this counts as a light trail but I remember wanting to shoot this scene because the sprays looked like light was flowing from the fountain instead of actual water.

Here's the result of another tough series of great shots:

3rd on my list goes to badcatgary for well execution of Paris city view from Montparnasse, can't go wrong with this awesome view of street light trail. would personally preferred a panoramic shot that includes the left of Eiffel, that would need a top spot for me:smile: A great effort nonetheless, I must go there someday!

2nd & top is a tough for me, in the end, danska has this shot for the ability to shoot with ISO160, F5, 1.3s!!! That's great handheld technique shot you got there, danska! No OOF, and a good juxaposition as well.

Top of this series which happens to be the first entry, goes to
    "Elavon"
    :2thumbs: :grouphug:
The technique here is something I use before but never got the hang. Elavon's choice is brilliant, creative and the light trails are well executed with leading lines to the city, kinda like a missile launched with an atomic explosion, very epic!

So here you go, all the top three of the 72 hours challenge, the next one is yours Elavon! Waiting for it!

Excellent choices! I guess I missed elavon's description of his technique. Knowing about it just makes an awesome-looking pic even more awesome.

    On to the next challenge.

    Congrats Elavon!

I can't believe I've got second in a number of these already. A bit discouraging! Great stuff from everyone though. :bravo-009:
