Have fun! Winner shall be announced on or shortly after Jan 21.
After some deliberation, I decided living in Vancouver makes for a soggy January. But I know that there's snow that's falling elsewhere in the world, that looks simply beautiful on the ground. To that end, I would love to see some lovely images with snow in them: landscape with snow, wildlife & snow, portraits with snow, street photos with snow. You name it. If its got snow, let's see it.

As for examples, well, sadly I don't have many μ43 images with snow, so I'll just provide this one below. High elevation is the only place we get to enjoy the snow here in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia:

    OM-D 75mm f/1.8@f/4

    72 Hour Challenge Rules

As the title suggests, each challenge lasts for 72 hours. Everyone gets to submit 2 photos in line with the chosen theme. The winner of the previous challenge gets to choose the new theme (topics can be anything under the sun) and serves as the judge for his/her 72-hour challenge.

For obvious purposes, the judge is disqualified from participating in his/her own 72-hour challenge. Instead, he/she should post up to 2 photos as examples to start out the challenge. Should the winner not be able to commit to being the next judge, the responsibility is passed on to the runner-up.

At the end of the 72-hours (we don't have to be strict about 72-hours, especially with time differences depending on where you are on the globe), the judge will name a blue ribbon winner, a runner-up, and 1 honorable mention. As we all know, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. We may not all agree with the chosen winners; the judge is encouraged (but not required) to state what criteria he used to decide on a winner.

To make sure we don't break any Mu43 rules/regulations, by participating in this thread you are allowing the judge to repost your image for the sole purpose of announcing the winners for the 72-hr Blue Ribbon Challenge.

Last December we had a big snow storm here in Montreal. I decided to try taking some photos (and test the "weatherproofiness" of the OM-D). I took a few photos I liked but I was particularly happy with this one:

Chris, you are absolutely more than welcome to enter photos from this past winter! I didn't mean to imply otherwise. In Vancouver, we rarely get snow regardless of the time of the year. It just rains from October through May.

Both from when I climbed Mt. Shasta. This was before I had MFT stuff(since no snow in beach areas of socal) so the images were with my trusty old panasonic LX3.

LOL, I can just picture you run out after reading the contest topic, mumbling and grunting "snow, YOU WANT SNOW?!" and then shake the poor evergreen to get some on the ground haha.

First I thought you scraped some off the inside of the freezer lol.

Unfortunately the teeny tiny part of Australia that does get snow in winter, struggles to go under low to mid 20's c (70's f) here in summer at the moment. I'll forgo entry to post a couple of family snaps taken in 2002 with my PO% P&S at the time. Actually I think the Nikon E4500 wasn't too bad for it's time.

Actually, it is an image of fake snow clinging to some broken 'twigs' of a fake Christmas tree.
