    RE: G1
I have several adaptors for my legacy lens and have used only them.
But I just received an M.Zuiko micro 4/3 14-42mm lens.
I changed the setting to no shoot without a lens.
And when I attached the lens I get the check that lens is attached properly note in the viewfinder.
What else do I need to do?

    many thanks

Bob, can you remind me/us which camera you are using with these lenses?

Ive had this come up a few times with m43 lenses attached, Ive just turned the camera off and on and it goes away.

Have you turned off the shoot without lens option?

Danny Two--Did the on/off several times-- still a problem.
And yes I did turn off the shoot without lens option.

  8. On the Olympus bodies you'll get a warning message when the MZD 14-42mm is retracted but it goes away when you extend the lens to its operating position.

I just went back and put on a legacy lens with adaptor.
Turned on the G1---got the note about checking the lens being attached properly.
Went to the shoot without lens mode and said yes---result - all fine with legacy lens and adaptor.
Then I removed the adaptor/legacy lens.
Put the Micro 4/3 lens back on....changed the shoot without lens to No....
and still same problem--it says "Please check that the lens is attached correctly".

    Luckypenguin--that was it!
I extended the lens and the notice went away.
I think I am all set.

    Thank you very much!

Not an answer, but might rule some things out. I mostly shoot my G1 with adapted lenses so it's selected to "shoot without lens". When I attach either of my Panasonic prime lenses (20mm or 45mm) I don't deselect the "shoot without lens" and they function correctly, the only thing I alter is the selector for manual focus, obviously moving it to auto focus.
Might this point to some problem with the actual lens rather than the camera?
