    Hi all,

I need some help for my upcoming decisions about my gear.

I currently own: Nikon D700 - Pentax K-30 - Epl-3 and Nikon P7100 for point and shoot and portability.

Well I have far too many bodies for my needs (gas always arouhd the corner!!).

So I'm thinking about selling one of D700 or Pentax for the upcoming EP5 which intrigues me a lot, but I think it's silly to sell the D700 because it's FF and is a leap in IQ, instead the Pentax I don't think is much better.

    Any thoughts?

I'm thinking that it's better to sell the Pentax and maybe the Epl-3 and keep the D700 and P7100 along with the new EP5 as soon as prices go down.

I also have kept some Olympus lenses and many vintage primes.

I think it would be perfect with heavy gear - D700 - and excellent lightweight EP5.

Strangely enough a Flickr pal of mine recently ditched his Pentax K-30 and most of the lenses and went over to the Nikon D700 . He wanted FF. If you are considering getting the E-P5, why not keep the E-PL3 as a second body ? I'm paranoid about having just one body for a system.

Because the EP-5 would be my second body

The D700 and E-P5 doesn't sound like a bad combination to me. :)

sounds like a very good combination. but i'd still hold onto the E-PL3, as it uses the same lenses as the E-p5, and ya never know - that could come in handy.

    I own no APS-C: RX100, OMD and 6D.

Sell the EPL3. You sound like me - you'd prefer clarity in your gear. P7100, EP5 and D700 are clearly differentiated. I hate the indecision of "which do I bring." With these 3 cameras, it gets pretty clear.

Get rid of the APS-C. It's a tweener. Neither here nor there. Just MO of course :D

    I agree. But why D7100? I think I'll trade the K-30 for the EP-5.

I'm keeping my GF1 when I eventually get around to upgrading. I doubt I could sell it for much, worth more to me as a second body. As other have said, the advantage of an APS-C camera over the E-P5 is questionable, whereas FF is much more of a step up in quality and capability. So sell the Pentax and keep the E-P3.

What about getting an E-pm2 instead of Epl-3 which I can sell at about half the price of a refurb E-pm2?

Here a refurb with 2 years warranty come at 400 euro.

The sensor difference is pretty big.

If you need the flippy LCD, then you've gotta go with the EPL series, but if you don't need the flippy LCD, the EPM2 is a better camera. EPL5 is going for just over $400 used.

Think I'll get the E-pm2. For the flippy screen I can wait for the EP-5 when price goes down and in the meantime I can shoot with the E-pm2 which should have the same IQ. Am I right?
