My Visual Diary 2020: spin it, dye it, knit it

My friend, who has a background in commercial wool dyeing, has been experimenting with natural dyes from her environment.

I just love the gentle, harmonious colours she has achieved on her homespun wool and alpaca, and was surprised to see the variances which different vessels (alum, copper and iron) caused.

Once she is satisfied with the colour (it's looking like mistletoe will be the dye donor material), she will dye a batch for a finished garment, which I hope to photography and add to this collection later.
