I am quite liking using the old Canon Cine 8 lenses with the Pentax Q.

The camera is now down to 229 new via Amazon. The Canon lenses are via ebay over the years. I wrote all about them on my super 8mm website:

Not bad for lenses from 1957.

Here's one of my cat using the 50mm f2.2 lens.

I know the highlights are all blown out but I am just pleased using vintage glass that has not seen the light of day for at least 40 years or more.

All but the 6.5 allow easy focusing. The issue with the 6.5 is that I have to unscrew it one turn to get infinity focus. Perhaps a washer would do the trick.

The interesting thing is that these are bayonet mounted lenses. You need to have the Canon bayonet mount to d-mount converter. Very rare piece. I was lucky to get a few of them in a old ebay auction. I knew the day would come when they would come in handy!

I love my Q. You do have to watch out for the jello though.

Ive always been very curious about this camera. I imagine it being good as a miniature nature photography kit given its huge 5.5x crop factor. Put a sharp legacy 100mm macro lens on it and you got everything covered from bugs to birds.
