    Hi guys
As you all know , I had a short love affair with PL25 1.4 and I wasnt very happy with it on the whole . I rebought my Panny 20 mm 1.7 and have been using since then . I must admit that I was addicted to the fast AF of PL25 and also it renders a bit differently. So I rebought PL25 mm 1.4 again . I like faster AF , slightly better low light capability but I still hate the size. I will give this fantastic lens one more try and I am pretty sure I will like it this time . My final advice to those who are tossing between Panny 20 mm 1.7 and this lens will be that they should buy this one if money is not the question . Some of the images are heavily cropped .

what would be the real difference with the P20? besides being two times bigger and heavier (the last one not being an issue for me but size it is an issue) AF speed only?. i prefer the P20 FOV than the P25 one.

    The major ones are
AF which is very important for some people including me. Better low light performance and better IQ though not a huge difference . 10 mm FOV is imporant I agree but I have both lenses now . Most likely I will sell 20 mm Panny as I heard PL is bringing 17 mm 1.4 version of this lens . My three prong prime attack would be 12mm Oly F2 , PL 17 1.4 and Oly 45 mm 1.8
    Cheers

    Argggggghhhhhhhh Bhupinder!!!

Your previous posts on this subject were pretty much my only justification for keeping the 20 and not splashing on the PL25!! Now you've gone and spoilt it and I have just yesterday received my 14 so there are no more funds, lol.

Oh well, I guess Christmas is n't that long to wait :)

I still stand by my previous statement. I wont ask any one to spend 200 dollars extra if they dont have to . U wont gain anything major apart from AF and very incremental increase in IQ and low light performance . Again u get compensated by more FOV and size . Dont feel bad , I still have 20 mm panny and I am gonna see for the next couple of days if this lens can convince me to keep it . My sharp shooter remains Oly 45 mm 1.8

I am keeping both for the time being . If I ended up disliking PL25 mm 1.4 again then I will sell it and buy 75 mm 1.8 Oly

My only big hesitation with the lens is the size.

    You lose that "pocket" factor

Granted its one hell of a big pocket

I really like what I see in those images. Is it that they are a bit smoother (for lack of better word), or something else? I don't know, but they just look, "right".

To be honest Dave , I get tired of changing lenses and many times I think of OLy 14-54 mm 2.8 lens MrkII . It can be a very good walk around kit lens.
