I just took a few pictures of the Space Shuttle Enterprise on the Hudson River using the Zuiko 75-300. First test of this lens. <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/gus_nyc/7345222216/" title="Traffic jam by Gus NYC, on Flickr"> View attachment 210146 "640" height="480" alt="Traffic jam"></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/gus_nyc/7160024905/" title="Trafic jam by Gus NYC, on Flickr"> View attachment 210147 "640" height="480" alt="Trafic jam"></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/gus_nyc/7160077077/" title="Mini shuttle by Gus NYC, on Flickr"> View attachment 210148 "640" height="480" alt="Mini shuttle"></a>
Very cool! Nice sharp shots. Is the lens as good at 300 as at 200? I love all of the folks standing on the ferry and at the Statue of Liberty. Where were you standing to shoot these??? -Ray
I was on my building's terrace (10th floors above ground). I used a little Gorillapod to help me to stabilize the camera, but the IBIS was incredibly helpful when I was framing the shots. If you check the pictures at the original size, you can see the damaged wingtip. It was painted black for the occasion. I can't talk about the sharpness at 300 and 200 yet. I will need some time to compare the shots. I just got this lens less than a week ago. I am glad I had such a wonderful subject to test the 75-300. New York is awesome sometimes.
