Hi all. Thought I'd like to make my first contribution of images to this fine site. I'm incredibly excited to have finally made the huge step-up from a life time of point and shoots and phone cameras...I must admit, every time I pick my gf1 up in my hands I feel like a kid in a candy store....only problem is, I can't decide what is more fun...the 20/1.7 or my manual Pentax-A 50/1.4 hehe As my database of images builds I hope to begin learning some post processing basics. I think I may give Lightroom a try and perhaps Silver Efex aswell. These images my favourites from the first 20 or so I have taken so far and I guess are my way of saying "thank you" to all you guys out there who so willingly offer novices like myself with all manner of help, advice and discussion. Wide openI was stunned to see that after having focused on the outer left side of the the glass rim, the lens also picked up with surprising detail my fingerprint. Coming from P&S cameras this is serious 'wow' for me Subscribe to see EXIF info for this image (if available) Pentax-A SMC 50/1.4 Winter Jasmine I have growing in my yard. Manual focus using old glass is tricky for a novice like me, but.....is so much fun. Thanks again to you all for making this such a fun, inspirational and informative site.
