My desk lamp

    Way up there.
    Thought I'd share one of my first good photo edits. Here is the before:

    The photo is nothing special in my opinion but I thought I did some good post processing.

    What do you think?

    thanks. I used GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) http://www.gimp.org/
    It is free so I decided to start with it before buying anything. I did 3 simple things to get this result:
    1. duplicated the image layer and increased the contrast a little bit
    2. I then changed the top layer to the darken only mode
    3. finally I increased the saturation by 50

    I believe this is a very simple method with good results.
