Fantastic shots! The proper way to shoot wildlife.

Nice! I, too, like the tight/head type shots. I do like the way the leopard and tree stand out from the background though. We'll be in the same places in July, also going up to Maasai Mara for a couple of days.

Did you find that you were usually using the teleconverter? My plan is to have a GX8 and a GX7, usually with 14-140mm and 100-300mm mounted. Also carrying a 9-18mm. A similar setup worked well for me in the south a few years ago.

I shot mostly with the 40-150/2.8 + mc14 @f/5.6 to have really sharp images.
sometimes without the teleconverter when the animal was too close or the light too low.
With the 100-300 you should be ok in good light.

The lioness in the last picture is clearly visualising the family dinner.

Wow great pics. I just went with the same combo to the same places but didn't see as much as you it seems. No cheetahs and a lot less lions. Should have gone for 7 days like you but Kilimanjaro was our first priority. Seems like you were closer to much of the action as well. Love the framing in the baby baboon and the lions in tree shot.

I've not had much experience shooting wildlife... But an African Photo Safari is definitely on my bucket list. That and maybe a trip to Iceland. Great shots.

We were lucky and with expert guides. But mostly lucky. For example about the photo of the lion drinking, we were at the right place right time, the other car missed him due a problem to a wheel.
And we saw 3 - I said three - times the Serval. And 6 times leopards.
But also we waited for long time when the leopard decided to climb off the tree, all other cars leaved just few minutes before.
A safari is a matter of patience and lucky :)
