I was looking at a samyang/Rokinon 85mm 1.4 but a local deal came up on this beauty and I couldn't resist...

    Nikon 105mm 1.8 AIS

Not sure yet in terms of long term and the focal length but it certainly is plenty sharp wide open for portraits and by the time its stopped down to f/4 it's razor sharp. Handles really nice on the E-M5 as well, with my left palm under the camera my fingers tips fall right onto the focus ring and everything balances nicely.

Here's a few while I was playing with it, I think all are wide open but one or two might be 2.8. Light PP (hopefully colours are ok, my main computer died so these are done on my laptop)

Beautiful! I'm jealous. :) Can I ask how much you got it for?

Little over $300. It was a little dirty but spent a couple hours and had it apart, cleaned and put back together. Think I need to pop it back apart to clean the helicoid as it still has a couple spots that feel like dirt is in there. Very easy to take these lenses apart. Glass is clear and body is a 8/10

Not quite as big as what that angle might make it look. Here's a shot of the lens next to a few others, sans adapter.

    Left to right:
    Nikon 180mm ED 2.8, Nikon 105mm 1.8, Pansonic 25mm 1.4, Panasonic 14-45mm

    Awesome shots

The Images have really nice "natural" look to them. Very sharp an contrasty but not unnaturally so. The 2.8/180 is a nice one too, though I find, that it gets somewhat difficult to operate handheld - 360mm equivalent is getting pretty long. Also Iam kind of afraid the weight wil warp my OM-D :). What is you experience with it?

    Re:180mm
Found it a little awkward at first, handling wise. Its got such a wide focus ring that I found it hard to hold. Due to its balance on the om-d If you hold it entirely by the focus ring you are basically supporting all the weight if the camera and lens. It will also shift focus easily too as mine is pretty lightly damped.

What I have been doing lately is holding it in front of the focus ring, where the hood retracts to, then just reaching back with my thumb and a finger to focus. Works allot better, for me anyway balances much nicer. I really wish there was a tripod collar though.

That mirrors pretty much my experiences, especially on the focus ring. I do in fact the same: hold it in front of the focus ring and focussing with the thumb and ring finger.

Still playing with my new toy, heres some bokeh shots f/1.8 to f/11. Didn't try too hard to get perfect focus on the apple so its not a sharpness test.

Erm, I'd think that would be the Nikon 105mm 1.8 AIS that the thread is all about!
