What a desolate zone right now.

Ok.. some 'revisits' from me from events last year.

Forgive me if this is repost but here is one of my favorites from back in 2015 with my EM 1 (mkI) and the 40-150 pro +1.4x.
Patricia Fernandez during Race 1 of the Superstock 600 class at Barber Motorsports park.

Follow up 'bump' from a question I asked (in the Panasonic Hardware thread regarding the update to 2.0.

Has anyone with the G9 noticed an improvement with the focusing when shooting cars/motorbikes etc?
Do people who take photos of planes/aircraft notice an improvement? (wi)th the bird mode ;)

image for thread relevance. Mitsubishi Evo 6, 2001.

Hi @Bagrphotography
I started using a G9 again recently after updating to version 2
I cannot give you any comparison impressions because I had been using an EM1X and XT3 beforehand
However I went to the UK MXGP (World Motocross) just before the COVID restrictions were put in place and was very pleased with the number of shots that were in perfect focus with the G9 and PL 200
Most were riders in the air as per the posts above (Trackside access was less than ideal so opportunities for varied shots were very limited and we had heavy rain at times along with hail and sleet on and off !)
I haven’t posted too many as they are quite repetitive but I had a large number of successful shots in perfect focus
I wouldn’t hesitate to use a G9 for Motorsports and indeed I have reduced my kit considerably having been grounded with little or no chance of any events this year
The Olympus EM1 ii, iii and 1X would obviously be a bit better with their PDAF but I’m very happy to take the Panasonic
I now have a G9 and PL 200mm which I absolutely love (used in the shots above), a PL12-60 and an Olympus 75mm F1.8 (not used as yet)
I sold my XT3 yesterday but still have the 50-140 which I may or may not sell as I may retain the lens in readiness for next season and an XT4 ?
I really enjoy using the G9 - it has a lot going for it in terms of superb ergonomics and controls and a great EVF ( the pincushion effect that so many criticise has no effect on its use as long as you concentrate on actually taking photos and not looking for it !)
Regards
Rob

Cheers Rob.
I have issues with images that I 'think' that the focus system is tracking but the contrast goes 'nope', whereas the phase-detect of the Olympus may solve it.

How do you find it works with 'black' bikes or 'white' bikes' (or cars or whatever); those two seem to have issues with focusing for me (personally) but then I am using a G85 which I rather suspect, is really lacking in terms of 'focus-power' compared to the G9, not to mention the small chip. (but a lot of the image I have posted are with the smaller/older 16 mega-pickles sensor)
