Sorry if I missed it, but what style of racing is this?
This is Sidecar racing.. just a high-powered class...

There is a 'seat' (dunno why.. it is more a slight aerodynamic fairing with a flat bit of metal for the 'swinger' to somehow 'sit' in) with handles all over it it on the other side (away from camera)

The people who do it must be even more crazy than rally co-drivers and that's saying something!

Hi @Darmok N Jalad
Yes you really need to be a bit of a nutter in my opinion to be a passenger on one of these sidecars
They have engines based upon high performance road bikes like Suzuki GSXR 1000 etc
My photos don’t do justice to what the passengers do - they hang right off at times - have a look at them going around the Isle of Man circuit which is another league again for bravery (my shots are only at Brands Hatch Circuit)
You May have noticed I also had photos of Sidecar Speedway which is similar but upon a loose Speedway surface

Yeah, I couldn't tell what the heck the second guy was doing other than holding on for dear life.

Something looks odd about these. I am not sure if it is focus or the higher ISO or the colors but the rider seems very soft. Am I alone in that? Same with the one above it.
Hi @derelict
Thanks for the honest feedback
There are probably a combination of things here
The ISO is quite high for moving subjects but compounding this was the appalling weather we had over the weekend of the event
At the time these were taken it was very overcast having had hail, sleet, rain showers on Saturday but thankfully quite a lot of sunshine on the Sunday when this was taken however towards the end of the event when these were taken there were a couple of showers and a very heavy dark overcast sky so the light at the time would have been far from ideal
These were straight from camera but very quickly tweaked on my iPad before posting so the processing will have been quite crude and there would have been no sharpening applied
Regards
Rob
