More shots from the UK round of World Motocross earlier this year at Matterley Basin Near Winchester
In their infinite wisdom the organisers have apparently decided that there will be no UK round next year as it’s prohibitively expensive for teams to travel here for a UK round - so no event to look forward to next year !

Hi I'm new to the forum and just finding my way around the Olympus E-M1II
AF is tricky compared to my D500 which just works. Waterproofing is good, if you look at the last photo yo will see how heavy the rain is.

I've never watched flat track racing, but this picture surprised me. I can't imagine giving up my front brake! That and the weird linkage suspension, makes these bikes way different than any that I've ever ridden.
It's Speedway racing, not flat track. They're both done on dirt ovals, but the bikes and much of everything else are very different. Speedway is primarily done in Europe and flat track in the US. Neither speedway or flat track bikes have front brakes since all control is done with steering and throttle.

Further to this and in case of any misunderstanding Speedway bikes don’t have rear brakes either - so no brakes at all !
They have chain drive from the engine to the rear wheel with no gearbox so have only the one ‘gear’
After finishing a race riders slow down quickly if they need to by skewing the bike sideways

A few from a wet-dry-event in Western Australia. The Targa Bunbury Sprints is a 'course' in an industrial area in Bunbury, south of Perth, WA.

Here are a few of the cars (out of over 120) that were down for the course.
I have posted a few 'non-european' cars for a bit of variety. :p

All images from a Panasonic G85, often with the 42.5mm f1.7 lens.

From digital res to .. kodak and film resolution :p
Canon AE1, with Kodak 200 or 400 film.. something.. maybe even Fujifilm. So long ago..

They are from possibly 1998 with the Auckland Motorcycling Club where I was a member - the top image is of Shaun Harris. The bottom one is of Jason McEwan or Andrew Stroud.. maybe. I say probably 1998 because on this roll of film there is an image of an R1 (in Red/White colours :D) and an early Aprillia RSV Mille'.

Shaun from memory was riding a GSXR600, two models after the first one (if my faulty memory is correct).

The track is Pukekohe, the corner is the Hairpin, and it was probably a Sunday.

Please don't ask me the settings... or the lens. I was trying to work out a strange camera system (that was loaned to me by one of my fellow members.. Cheers Mark and Adele)
I think I am still trying to work out the settings, and yes, it was a grey day.
