I took my wife to Siesta Key Beach for Mother's Day, since the beach is her favorite place in the world. I honestly don't care for it that much, so we don't go nearly as often as she would like.

Every Sunday afternoon at Siesta Key Beach, a group of interesting people gather and form a drum circle. I believe that for some there is a spiritual aspect to what goes on there, but for others I believe it is just a way to express themselves. I have gone and watched several times and I have taken photos a few times. Today was my first time with my M3/4 gear though. I like many things about the M4/3 set up, but there are some disadvantages. For one, it is much harder for me to get any background separation, and the people were packed tight, so the shots were often filled with distractions. Also, while I really like using the screen to compose shots, at times I have a hard time telling exactly what the camera is focusing on, and I am not that adept at changing the focusing point. A touch screen focus would actually have been very handy.

Anyway, enough talk. Here are a few of the shots I got before my wife came and got me.

All taken with my EPM-1 and Oly 40-150, most of them at 150. A zoom was really handy with a constantly moving scene and lots of people in the way.
