Back to Scotland with the EPM1, the Lumix 14 2.5 and the Sigma 30 2.8.

Stob Binnein in the Southern Highlands this time. It was misty all the way up, but it miraculously cleared the second I set foot on the summit. As such, all these shots are from the way back down so they're a bit picture postcard (I'm usually more creative on the way up, when I'm finding excuses to take a break).

    Anyway. Stob Binnein and around:

    Thanks for the photos !

TGO 2013 is just 2 months away, and i am already longing for next one ( may 2014 ) to hike again coast to coast in Scotland.
what is the loch on the last one?

That is Loch Voil near Balquhidder (just southwest of Lochearnhead), with little Loch Doine in front of it.

Beautiful shots, thanks for sharing these!

    (I like the natural/subtle processing :) )

Thanks :) It took me a long time to settle on a processing technique for landscapes, but this is the one I use all the time now. Being colour blind, it looks more natural to me to desaturate red/orange/yellow/green and leave blue alone. No idea how it looks to anyone else, of course, but it works for me :)

Never would have thought you're color blind :)
I think it works very well! Gives me a much better feeling of "being there" than the over-processed screaming colors you see a lot today... very nice!

I can almost smell the fresh mountain air just by looking at them, haha.

Beautiful photos mate! I agree with Tilman, the style of PP that you've used fits these scenes perfectly :)

    Cheers, Don.

That's not even a part of Scotland that I'd call particularly beautiful to be honest :)

Cheers all, and particularly for the comments about the PP. I get a lot of grief from my girl about the way I process pictures ("just leave them alone, they're nice before you start messing around with the colours"), good to know that it works for other photographers :)

Thread resurrection for some new ones (I didn't think it was worth a new thread). Weather was not so good for most of these, but still.. you don't go to Scotland for the sun tan :)

Enjoying your pics very much and you PP is excellent - not too much saturation and giving a great feel for the hills. What are the last batch? Is the final on Beinn Eighe?
    Cheers

Very close, most of those were taken in Torridon and that one from Tom na Gruagaich on Beinn Alligin. Cloud closed in not long after that.

Thanks, by the way :) I find that muting the colours a bit makes the mountains look more British, somehow :)

Love the last one. Glad I read earlier posts about you desaturating the reds - I thought my monitor calibration was off. Personally, I think a little more warmth wouldn't go amiss, but great great shots whatever.
