Very atmospheric and very typical of the vernacular. Nice lighting too.

Being a Hampshire lad I got to spend quite a bit of time in Normandy, what with cheap ferries and twin towns. Even in HK I always have a bottle or two of calvados in the process of slowly being consumed. :]

Chocolate-boxy! In a nice way. Great colours.

Thanks! And now I'm curious, what does chocolate-boxy mean?

And thanks for the other comments too.

OK, chocolates used to be sold in very nicely illustrated boxes, usually country scenes like yours. In some countries they still do, but here they're all shiny block colours now.
Scottish fudge and shortbread biscuits do continue the tradition ... leading to biscuit-tinny, or sweet-packetty as well as chocolate-boxy. Great language eh?

So your farm scene could have been found on the front of a nice chocolate box.
    I'd buy one.

(See the green plastic barrel on the right wall? how about changing the colour so it isn't noticed?)
