Super happy to see this thread! I am trying to get out and shoot the moon.

Here are two recent shots. I am using a G9 with an old Panasonic 45-200mm at 200mm. It isn't a great lens, and I am hunting for a PanaLeica 100-400mm. These shots are stacks of 15 shots (f8, ISO200 and 1/200 or 1/250). I am a Linux user, so having great luck stacking the RAW files with Siril, the finishing the post production in Rawtherapee.

New at this, but trying different settings, stacking, etc. Happy so far with these.

A colour and B&W from the same file, I don't know which one I like best.

Beautiful shots, I prefer the colour one.
But really would be proud of either. Very nice.

Just read in the paper, the international space station is flying across the face of the moon tonight, near me. Would love a pic of that. But would need more lens than I have got.

I also had an opportunity to shoot the moon in the morning.

I had my Lumix G9 with my new to me Leica 100-400mm at 400mm. Shot at f11, ISO 100 and 1/100. I took 15 shots and stacked them in Siril. Had to work on getting the right white balance to keep a somewhat blue sky. Pretty happy with the outcome.

I had a chance to get a 'Waxing Crescent' moon before sunrise this morning. Found it hard to get a great focus, but after several attempts, I manged to get a decent focus manually. G9 with PL 100-400mm at 400mm. f8.0, ISO 100, 1/125s. 15 shots taken 1 second apart. Stacked in Siril.

This is a shot taken of the full moon a couple of hours ago, using the FZ1000 with the Canon TC-DC58 1.5X teleconverter. The Canon is in my opinion just as sharp as the Nikon TC-E17ED, but because it is lighter it doesn't set off the FZ1000 zoom error notification when zooming compared to the NIKON. I used 80 ISO to keep the noise from the smaller 1" sensor to the bare minimum. Shot at 10MP so that I could get some reach on the zoom, and used the shutter speed setting to under expose so that I could get as much detail without blown highlights.

Recently purchased an MC-20 from a member here and took a moon shot this morning. It would be rude not to share.

Hope to get out in nature with this combo sometime during the holidays.

Here is a shot taken a few days ago. Lumix G9 with the Leica 100-400mm at 400mm. f7.1, ISO 100, 1/100 shutter speed. I take 15 shots 1 second apart. Then using the application Siril, the images are stacked and sharpened. Pretty happy with this result.
