My favorite astronaut is currently 4,400 miles miles away, which often seems too far. But at least we're on the same planet-- for the time being...

Humidity finally dropped and sky was clearer. Pretty severe crop. 300mm just isn't enough. A little soft but I can't blame the lens until I get can test on a really dry and clear night.

A reasonably clear night tonight. So much so that I even managed to capture stars either side of the moon! I used the FZ82 with the LT55 1.7X converter to give me an extra reach to fill the frame. Unfortunately the LT55 gives me a bit of a yellow tint on the left of the moon, and a blueish tint on the right.

Just for fun I decided to take the same picture with the GX8 and 45-175 fitted with the LT55. This is a cropped image since the 45-175mm hasn't got the same reach as the FZ82 zoom. But even so the larger sensor GX8 still produces a comparable image detail etc wise from the crop.

Went on a trip to "the great outdoors" - Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park on the South African / Botswana border a few months ago.

Had to test out my then newly bought 300 f4 and 1.4 TC
