Anyone have any tricks for focusing with the moon. I've had a few attempts however I haven't been happy with the results so far. Is there a liveview boost setting that needs to be disabled?

I generally use AF. Are you stabilized?

Last night's moon over San Carlos (Sea of Cortez), OMD EM5 Mk2, iso 200, 1/160, Leica 400 APO 2.8 w/2X APO TC, f5.6, 4 sec delay. Manual focus (using focus magnification).

Northern Thailand has been under a heavy haze of pollution from farmers burning stubble for the last several weeks. Plus temperatures of 104-106F but got a slight reprieve with light rains which cleared the skies enough to get this twilight photo of the moon. E-M1, Pany 100-300mm @300, 50% crop.

I use the oly 300f4, iso 200, minimum 400th second and f8 or f11, single af spot and spot meter. Set your focus point at the edge of the moon make minor adjustments from there good luck and fave fun.

I recently bought the FZ82 to improve my moon shots by getting a bigger image in the viewfinder. I finally got a chance to give it a try yesterday. I shot several pictures at its 9MP setting with iZOOM on. I then used an image stack to remove the noise, instead of using the noise filtering from DxO or Affinity. That allowed me to extract far more detail than I have ever managed before with any of my other camera/lens combination.
