Shots look amazing, I know nothing about macro shooting. How do you guys find bugs and stuff...just look around patiently? Do you use IS on handheld shots?

It´s not really hard to find these bugs, alteast not here in Sweden. And IS is very usefull yes.
What's most impressive to me if=s the soft colored backgrounds you have in these images. This is what sets them apart from any other macro creature shots I've seen.
Very nice work.
EDIT: Also, the flash capturing the little particles in the air is very nice.
Stunning! What flash do you use for your macro work?
What kind of technique do you use when using the flash for macro? Would it scare bugs such as butterflies?
I am not a big fan of macro shots but I really enjoyed your photos. The colors are awesome!
I have a Yongnuo YN560 II with a "softbox" on it, here´s my girlfriend using the same equipment.

Consistently some of the best images on the site.
No exception here.
So basically your girlfriend is taking the pics while you are claiming them as your own. I like your style, sir
Hehe her pics can be found here www.dragonezz.com in the Blog, but she´s using Nikonstuff and sigmaflash.
Does the flash scare away skittish bugs, like butterflies, bees, grasshoppers, etc?
all are beautiful and the first one are amazing!
This one just turned into my most popluare image on 500px now
