Minolta X-700 - what mount?

    Hi, to my own surprise I just won a Vivitar Series I 105mm macro on ebay. The owner didn't specify the mount but mentioned that it fit on his Minolta X-700. Is that a MD mount? I need to order an adapter...

    Wikipedia is my friend, I just found it there - was confused by reading about SR mounts first, but they seem to be all compatible with each other.

    Hi Stefan,

    the Minolta X-700 used native MD-mount, which is basically the same as the older MC-mount, with one added nook outside the lens mount to facilitate the use of the P-mode on the X-700. I do suppose that the older SR-mount will fit this camera as well, but I am not sure. You can find more information on The Rokkor Files.

    Basically, get one of the cheap ebay Minolta MD to m43 adapters for your lens. Or, if you are more into beautifully made things, order one from Novoflex...

    My MD/MC lenses work fine on both my x-700 and my e-p1 (with MD adapter.)
