    Hi
have acquired my uncle's Minolta md 50 1.4 and 35-70 3.5 in great condition

And have a couple of questions

    1. From experience is there a best md mft adapter or will any do

    2. Is it worth searching out a Rokkor 85 1.8 or is it too big /heavy for a ep2

Any MD adapter will do in my experience (I have 2 md to m43 and a couple md to Nex cheap ones). The 85mm f1.8 will be fine with a relative bigger m43 body. If you have the older 35-70mm f3.5 nominal 1:4 macro lens (heavy and mostly metal), it's really a nice rendering lens, especially for video.

Be warned that the MD adapter is something like 2/3 as long as the 1.4 itself. Not exactly a compact setup. I'm enjoying it though - it's what I'm shooting most these days.

Ps, so far so good with cheap eBay adapter.

The 50 will be a great adapted lens the zoom not so much. Rokkors are great lenses. I would love to have one of the 85mms but they are pricey! They made several different 85mms by the way. Here is a link with more info on them. Of all the 85mms out there several of the Rokkor 85s are some of the smallest lightest.
