I believe this lense is different from the f4.0. Version. It has a 49mm filter and a good deal of plastic to it. This does make it relatively light for it's size. Focusing is very difficult partcularly at the long end. It often feels like, just as you are close to focus, that extra nudge goes boeyond focus. Fairly frustrating. However, as with most Minolta's I do like the colors and I think the photo's have character. And when you do hit focus the result is quite good. And it was dirt cheap. 70mm f4.5 about 15 ft away. 210mm f8.0 about 1/2 mile away 210mm f4.5 about 5ft. The macro focus is about 4.5 ft. These are pocupine needles.
