    Legacy glass newbie here.

I've been using an adapter w/ my Konica Hexanon AR 50mm f1.7 w/ great results.

I wanted to try out the Minolta Rokkor 45mm pancake. Found a local on CL who sold me the lens and body for $30. I thought it was the same as the Konica.

Are the AR and MD/MC mounts really that different? (Yeah, I know, I tried the lens and it didn't fit. But at $30, it was a steal w/ the body.)

Has anyone compared these 2? I know the image threads but was looking to see if 1 was better than the other.

Konica and Minolta eventually merged but before then they were seperate entities, each with unique lens mounts.

Konica stopped making SLRs long ago. When Minolta and Konica merged, it was the Minolta mount that was in production. And the Minolta did change its mount when it developed its AF SLRs. But both companies made a rangefinder with a Leica-M mount.
