A friend of mine who knows I'm into digital photography has given me a Minolta Dynax 700i SLR with a databack which dates back to 1988. It's come with a 50mm AF lens.

Whilst it's a nice looking bit of kit I don't really know what to do with it. I normally use an EPL-1 and love the thing but whilst film cameras are a bit before my time I've always been a bit intrigued about them because they are the forerunner to the digital cameras I love so much.

Now I've found websites that will turn film into digital media (but any recommendations are welcome!) so I'm not worried about that but my question to you guys is, is it worth me starting to use this thing? Will it give me something my EPL-1 won't? Will it teach me anything?

If it's not worth keeping I'll discard it and get an adapter for the lens instead...

Any comments would be really welcome. I've found the people here so helpful in the past that I thought I'd ask you first even though this is a m4/3 site.

    thanks guys...
