I've found that 400mms of equivalence means that although this is a very nicely constructed and sharp lens, it's all but next to useless for most landscape purposes because what appears waaaaaaaaay over there is made to appear right in front of your face, so to speak. I'll post more shortly, but this is the most interesting that I've shot of several since I got it. In any sort of moderate or higher wind, it's quite a challenge to make sure it's stable and to get the focus are correct.

That, and being new to the manual lenses, I'm STILL forgetting to (a) focus and especially (b) check my aperture.

I don't think this lens is designed for landscape purposes but that is a cool shot.

Haven't used mine much but here is a cropped moon shot I did with the lens. I hope to do more wildlife photos with it once the warm weather gets here.

These hummingbirds are tough to get in the wild, especially with a manual lens!

Wow! Nice shots!! How do you compare using it to the 135mm, lets say?

I like your shot of the power lines. It really compresses the subject. I have the same lens, but hardly ever use it. It's so big I don't carry it, and then when I could use it, I don't have it. It does take great pictures though.

Thanks. I shoot the 135 more, but mostly because the 200 is so freaking big and heavy. I think both are excellent lenses and sharp with wonderful color. My 135 is an MD so it has smoother focus. Until they come out with a fast native telephoto I will continue to use these lenses.

Good to know! I have a 135 MD as well, it is a nice lens (especially for the price I paid). I end up using the 100mm MD 2.5 a bit more, it is great terms of sharpness and it is a good amount lighter. A 200 would be great to have for the extra long reach, I don't think I will ever get the native 100-300 as these long telephotos only come out for special occasions.

i really love this lens, but i also usually carry a 135 with me just because its so much smaller and lighter (the 200 really is a big metal and glass beast)

Here's the lens on my camera. Pretty gigantic. I shoot it hand held, gets decent results.

Im going to include my lens in here, although mine is a ROKKOR-QF, but I believe its because its an early MC version and by the late MC they just changed it to ROKKOR-X

Had a hell of a sun splash today and couldnt use mine properly, but after converting to black and white and throwing a filter on it, I really really like this pic!

BTW, I was approx 4000 feet from the center of the bridge!

Yea it's in beautiful condition. Unfortunately I dropped it onto pavement while changing lenses last year, dented the sliding hood but no glass damage. Let's say I shouted quite a few expletives when it happened.

I'd hate to see what the pavement looks like.

Heres another cracker from my 200m QF

    The supermoon two nights ago.

    ISO 200 1/10 second I believe f8

Used a monopod, so somewhat handheld. :) Amazed at how good I managed to manually focus and hold it steady

    Used my Olympus E-M5
