Hi everyone,

I've been making some fairly basic videos, and my computer (an 2011 HP laptop with an i5, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 256GB SSD, and no dedicated video card) can't even really handle 1080 video editing. I mean it gets it done, but just barely, and painfully.

I'm mostly making videos for YouTube: Trail guides and tech videos for mountain bikers. I do most of my videos with a GoPro 7 Black (which is 4k60 capable), but would love to use my E-M5.3 as well (also 4k capable).

I've read tons of articles on this, but haven't really been able to get a clear answer to this question: What are the minimum system requirements for comfortably editing 1080 video? For 4k video? Is a dedicated video card absolutely necessary?

I'd like to stay with a laptop, mostly because I don't really have a dedicated space in my house, and I just like laptops...but that may be a tall/expensive order for what I'm looking for.

I've been looking at some laptops with a 9th/10th gen i7, 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and Intel UHD Graphics 620...how would a setup like that do with 4k video editing? 1080?

Thanks in advance for any help! :)
