    I have the video record button set up to magnify the image as an assist for legacy mf lenses on my om-d. When I half press the shutter, the image falls back to regular view. I was playing briefly with a friend's e-pl1 and noticed that the magnified image stayed on screen even with a half press.

    This is useful sometimes if you want to alternate between metering and focusing without having to press buttons. Is this a mode that can be enabled?

    If it does I have yet to find it. I always make sure to get a good focus while zoomed, pushing the shutter button engages the IBIS and then I take the shot.

    Try this:

    Cogs -> D -> LV Close Up > Mode 2

    @kenez: thank you very much, that helps.

    Sigh, I wish they would at least refer to controls related to one feature by one name. It's referred to as "mf assist" in the AF/MF menu, "magnify" under the button settings and "LV Closeup" under display settings.
