Beaten again by the manual: How do I engage the MF assist (the zoomed screen) with an adapted lens on an e-p2.

On my PM1 I have set the Rec button to switch magnify on and off. You should be able to do something similar on the P2.

In the SCP, toggle the info button until the "green box" screen appears (the one after the histogram screen) and press the "OK" button, this will magnify the screen to 7X, turn the thumb wheel to increase the magnification to 10X if desired. If you use the VF-2, this can be done without taking your eye away from the VF. It becomes second nature and is very easy and fast, much like typing on a computer. To get out of the "magnification mode, press "OK". Like I said, with a little practice, it will become second nature. Good luck.

It works better too if you disable all the info settings you can besides the magnify box. Then it works almost like the dedicated Close-Up button on the E-PL1, E-PL2, E-P3, and E-PL3.
