Manual focus Leica Vario 2.8-3.5 4/3s lens on EP1?

    The AF is slow, but reasonable - is there a way to manual focus it? That would certainly be preferable. Thanks!

    Sure - change the AF mode from S-AF to MF or S-AF + MF in the Super Control Panel. Keep in mind that the lens is focus-by-wire - so there's no mechanical coupling between the focus ring and the focus mechanism (i.e. if the camera is off, or not in an MF mode, turning the focus ring does nothing).

    Great, that worked. But is there a way to make the focus ring not automatically zoom in for the focus? That's a bit troubling for focus shots around distinct objects. Thanks for the help!

    sure, as stated in the manual, turn the MF-Assist off.

    Ah, thanks. I'm betting this would be the same function with my GH1, where the MF-assist is a nightmare for video. Thank you
