I like it, what color temp. are those lights?
I don't know. The package has very little info printed on the box.
I DO work for an LED lighting manufacturer though... let me see if we can measure.
wow .. an E-PL2 with antennae.
We measure LUMENS here as standard, not wavelength or temperature. BUT apparently we have ordered additional equipment to measure wavelength!
I'll be the first in line to test it!!
Now you KNOW "antennae" is for bugs, and "antennas" is for gear.
(I'd use "antennae" too, it looks bug-like.)
lol ... I am educated as a biologist.
I don't know why, but I sensed you knew...
Well they kind of do make it look like it's alive.....
Quick pic... 50mm 1.8 (OM), 25mm OM extension tube, MAL-1 Macro Light. I'm seeing the limitation of the 1.8... minimum aperture of f16.
pretty good picture! no blue tinting to the image from led coloring?
Shot it in monochrome, sorry.
This is going to be too much fun!
Here's more... macro really isn't my forte, but I'm learning.
This was with my OM 50mm 1.8 (A, @f16/ISO200), BOTH a 14mm AND 25mm extension tubes, and my trusty new MAL-1. NO CROPPING or enlarging was done, except to take the camera file down to 6x9/72dpi for posting here.
LOL ... glad you're having fun ...
keep taking these pics so I am encouraged to get it too. I wonder if this will work during the day for flowers when the light is not optimum?
How long after your email to the top did you receive the MAL-1? I emailed today.
A couple of days at most before I received shipping notifications. Really over the weekend it was resolved. Marketing people hate it when they have run ins with other marketing people. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.
Is the MAL-1 compatible with the old AP1 port, or does it require the somewhat-annoying-new-standard-so-soon AP2 port on the PL2?
There was no manual with it, just some Japanese printed on the back of the box, but I believe it is AP2 only.
I guess I was one of the lucky ones. I received mine 3 weeks ago from B&H. I had asked to be notified when they were in stock. When I received the email, I immediately ordered it and received it in a couple of days. I have not used it much. I have primarily used it outside on flowers after a rainfall and it produced the desired effect of adding a few catch lights. I have not used it inside. I like its size, configurability and it slips easily into the front pocket of both my Domke bags.
