What technique do you use when using a flash in your macro work? And what settings, like shutter speed, ISO, etc?

I use very disperse, constant, high-CRI lighting for my macro photography work. I cannot offer image samples because I only do macro work for my primary career and it is very proprietary.

^what Dan said, plus stick to manual settings. Not much else to say. Settings all depend on the scene, the key, the subject, etc.
