To those of you who have the fabulous 75mm F1.8, does it make noisy sound when you turn on-off the camera? I'm surprised how noisy it is at on-ff compare to when it focus.

    TIA

Yep, there's a slight noise on start-up and shut-down with my GH2. Looking inside the lens it appears that the aperture slightly closes.

This might be one of the fixes of the new firmware update?

I have Firmware 1.1...today I also noticed at one point when I point the camera 45ยบ up or down and while doing that I can hear the aperture blade also...but when I turn to video, it's complete silence (good I guessed), but now I cannot reproduce that the sound of the blade.

    Thank you for your reply.

Mine has a faint click when turning on/off, but it's pretty quiet other than that. Completely quiet when shooting video. I updated the firmware the same night I bought the lens, so I can't really say if this occurred pre-update.

Just noticed that just by the fact of light variation the aperture blade open and close itself without having to be on permanent auto-focus.
