$899 USD (based on specs, I thought for sure it'd be $1299).

C'mon camera store -- you guys have got to do one!

Ap, SS and EV dials. Leaf shutter. 11 fps.

Pretty close to the size of the old Canon Canonette

Canonette: 120 × 75 × 60 mm
LX100: 115 x 66 x 55 mm

24p 4K video

That is one heck of a sexy compact camera....full complement of manual control dials, multi aspect GH4 sensor with DFD focusing and a pretty impressive lens. Still to wait for real world reviews but I think I'll be picking this up.

Hey, this is mu43's first real non-ILC compact. Aside from the nifty specs, I actually like the styling as well. They could sell lots of these.

I still don't get it about the lens. It is said to have 24-75mm equivalent. Yet the number engraved in the lens is 10.9-34mm. Wouldn't it become 21.8-68mm equivalent?

From DPR's review, this shows Aperture equivalence (normalized to 35mm). LX100 will provide the best DOF control of the compacts, and also seems to have a reasonable slope (i.e. it stays bright)

@fluberman - I guess it's because the multi-aspect thing - they fitted all the formats within 4/3, hence the 4/3 "full" image circle is also smaller...

Looks really really really tempting...if the full specs are as I suppose, I might get one!

I don't know if perfection exist in a camera but it sure is as close as it gets. Time to sell gear to buy this one! :)

Flash sync should be really fast since it has a leaf shutter. It could be 1/1600s.

Wow that looks nice...

Do me a favor Panasonic, take that lens and package it in MFT mount..... Small pancake size, leaf shutter, 24-70, and f/1.7 to f/2.8. Yum.

Maybe in a couple of years? Today, the lens in the LX100, even though it is a great feat, does not actually covers the entire 4/3 sensor.

I'm not one to pre-order anything... I usually wait for the sales, but I might not be able to resist this one.
