    Just a quick question.

I just picked up my second copy of this lens and they both had an audible rattle in the lens. It is as if something is loose in the lens. Should I return it?

It's probably the apeture blades... Search here for "rattle", I've seen similar posts.

  3. Panasonic's Mega OIS equipped lenses don't lock the OIS element when the lens is unpowered.

As penguin said, it's the free-floating element in the OIS system. The rattle you hear is completely normal.

Thanks. I had just never heard a rattle like that before.

This lens is well known for it.
