I have 4 lenses covering 15mm. Panaleica 8-18, 12-60, 15 & Lumix 14-140 (old version). Here is 4 shots taken with the lenses for an unscientific comparison @ F:5,6.

It also came as a surprise to me that the 12-60 & 8-18 is better than the 15mm - but the three PL is way better then the old 14-140.

Which 12-60 were you using, as a matter of interest, and your 'old' 14-140 is the 4.0-5.6 or the first of the 3.5's?

Not surprised by the lacklustre 15mm. I think there must be some copy variation as mine is even worse, terribly soft. It has nice contrast and rendering, but it starts to pixelate as soon as I crop.

Sample variation is a thing. Still, it shows how excellent the 8-18mm is.

It was the Leica DG 12-60 F:2,8-4 & the old heavy Lumix 14-140 F: 4-5,8
You have a mediocre copy of the PL15, it seems. It should be the best. I am also suprised that the PL8-18 is worse than the PL12-60. Maybe the AfterShot Pro is to blame? The 1:1 corner examples look odd, more like painting. How much NR and sharpening have been apllied? Maybe a different RAW SW will give you better output...

The rawconverter was set to the standard configuration - No NR sharpening 200. I am 100% satisfied with aftershot pro. Have tried a couple others, but they did not give better output.

Just done the same test with my 15, 12-60 and a 12-32 comparing the raw image on my EM1ii screen. At f4 500s virtually no difference in sharpness between the 2 Leica's the 12-32 noticeably worse as to be expected. When I go for a walk, the 12-32 and 15 go with my EM5ii and the 12-60 stays at home.
