I find myself wanting a longer reach than my 14-140 is giving, mostly for birds.

Would the Panasonic 100-300mm be the best choice with my GH2?

Believe it or not, I like the Olympus M. Zuiko 75-300 better. The Panasonic 100-300 is such a large lens, that I might as well bring my DSLR instead......In other words, the Olympus though costlier is a much smaller lens.

Are you using this on an Olympus body? I'm worried about the lack of OIS that I'd have using an Oly lens on a Panny body.

  4. That would indeed be an issue with the Oly lens on a Panasonic body. Fair enough back in the "good old days" we got by with no IS on long lenses but these days you wouldn't want to give up such an invaluable feature if it was available.

But the 100-300 will give stab' on the Panny. At these fields of view, it's either this or getting the best gimbal head + tripod you can, which will cost twice more than either lens.

I looked at both of them and ended up getting the Leica/Panasonic 45mm f/2.8....

Anyways, I would use the M.Zuiko 75-300 on my E-PL2...
