Just had a short trip in China exploring some parts of Yunnan province, thought I'd share some of the images. All GF1 with G Vario 7-14mm, PL25mm and PL45mm. Bright sharp sunshine and clear air at 2500m above sea level.

Lijiang is a quite a tourist trap now, so much of our time was spent around Shuhe and other villages up the valley. As part of the Tea route out of China to Rangoon these towns have been around for 800 years or so.

    Looking toward Lijiang

    Over the rooftops of Shuhe

    Cherry blossom in courtyards

Out in an ex-PLA side car combo

    Jade Dragon Snow Mountain

Great set of (to me) an unfamiliar place, which makes these pictures all the more interesting.

Sep 13, 2010 many people only see Shanghai and Beijing. Nice to see a different part of China.

Well, thanks everyone for the encouragement.

The cherry blossom was spectacular... and might... just might, have saved me from taking a trip to Osaka at Sakura-time.

Here's a couple close to ground level.

Nice set. I don't think I've seen images from China with such clarity, I have come to associate China with a thick, dull haze. It's great to see it in this way.

And yeah, the motorbike shot is cool.

In the big cities it's unfortunate that pollution has just overwhelmed the greening efforts.

Here's a shot of Beijing a couple of weeks ago. I have a buddy working there. It's going to be another year before he's going to back Stateside.

Thanks again for everyone's kind comments.

Lijiang is far away from industrial centres and the air straight off the Himalayan Plateau. There had however been a few forest fires in other valleys which added a little haze to the air.

xdayv. Here's a couple more wide shots take withe the 7-14 Vario.

Wow, great set of images and good to see the GF1 is still being put to good use (I do miss mine even though the GX1 produces better IQ, it is not quite the same feel).

I really like the images of the rooftops and the one in the sidecar and suspect these two would look great in B&W.

Thanks for sharing them with us.
