...and the E-P3s are included! This is my opportunity to compare LR and Aperture...

Can someone point me to a thread(s) that does give the run down on Lightroom and/or Aperture, please.

You should just google Aperture vs. Lightroom. There are TONS of threads and discussions, but having used both and read all the threads, the summation is always this:

They are both competent applications. One is cross-platform (Lightroom), one is not (Aperture). Aperture is (generally) cheaper (barring student discount) But in the end, they both have free trials, and they have pretty different feels to them, so the best thing to do is download trials of both and play with them for a while.

Cheers for that - trails of course! As for Aperture I do have an older mac which I am looking at balancing with a Mac mini so that might be on the cards... though I do like the adobe products (most of the time).

Will read up as you suggested.

    Thanks once again.

Just downloaded and installed. Tried to open my first image and it shut down. Now it won't open. Maybe I'll try installing again. Maybe it's not worth the hassle.

I guess there's a benefit to all this G3 waiting.. LR is able to finally catch up and support it.

I haven't done it, but at least they allow for your own custom profiles.

Lordy lordy, thank you... LightRoom is a blessing indeed, made ever better yet in working with RAWs from the G3 and GF3. :yahoo:

Adobe's Lightroom automatically reads Panasonic's correction files that it embeds with the RAW data. This information includes lens correction data for Panasonic lenses. I don't think that Olympus, unfortunately, has similar data embedded in its files.

Also, another question, can Lightroom do a batch edit of RW2 that will "auto" correct them?

    It is a beta....
Try setting your Virtual memory higher... I have 8g-20g for all my drives.
Try making sure the compatibility is for your OS,

Does this update my old version or does it install alongside my LR?

Bill, this is not correct. My understanding is that only corrections Olympus does not provide are for CA. An Oly body will not provide such info for a Panny lens either. Panny includes such CA correcting info for its lenses. Only a Panny body and Panny lens will have CA info for use by Raw engines.

All m43 lens information that's provided by the m43 body is used by most major RAW engines, including Adobe and Aperture.
