I can't believe I forgot this from my original list:

And that "Paint It Black" cover suddenly reminds me of this gem of a performance by Mick Jagger:

I can watch this video everyday, no joke. No matter how down I'm feeling, it never fails to cheer me up.

For some reason this one can powerfully transport me back to a moment on my 2007 coast to coast bicycle tour. I was on the Mississippi levee, it was probably 100F, and the wind was rustling in the dry corn fields. The first three notes of the base line take me back, scents sounds, and all. Strangely the Hendrix version transports me more powerfully but then it is the Jamie Cullum version in my head. I think I was singing it to myself while riding back then.

Personally, too jazzy and not enough feeling for the song, just not my cup of tea/coffee.

This version is more to my liking, yes it's similar to the amazing Hendrix version maybe that's why -

Meh, its okay, but just a fairly competent Hendrix imitation. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but if I want that I'll just listen to the real thing.

I can see where the Jamie Cullum version is an acquired taste and not to everyone's liking though.
