100% agree. It is by far the best lens released this year for any mount.

Absolutely. I like the 25/1.4 better, but this was by far the most important one for the year.

    Here, here!

AND it fits in one pocket, with a couple spare batteries and some memory cards. You can't beat that. Legacy who??

People have been demanding a good portrait lens, and we finally have one. :2thumbs:

I have it and it's great... but I've been eyeing the 25 f/1.4 too... damn you GAS!

No surprise... simply a must-have lens for micro four-thirds if you're beyond the point-and-shoot phase. And it somehow manages to stay under $400!

I love the 45mm 1.8, but for general purpose I do prefer the 25mm 1.4.

I like the guy in the comments who thinks that crop factor also halves the aperture. :)

Yeah, you hear from these guys all the time - the full-frame purists. Let 'em go on - while we enjoy our defective, 2x-crop toys.

The sensor size only affects the appearance of bokeh, not the aperture. 1.8 is 1.8 regardless of FX, APS-C and M43. Plus Olympus did some tweaks to the 45mm 1.8 that actually makes the bokeh very pleasing. If you look at samples of the 45mm 1.8 versus other brand 85mm 1.8 lenses, the 45mm looks very good in comparison. I do wish they made a 45mm 1.4 though!

45 indeed. the 25 might be also a favorite but i think it's too close focal length wise to the cult-like 20.

Not experienced to have my say, but so far I have the 14/2.5, 25/1.4, 45/1.8.

And I'd say the 45/1.8 is my favorite. =)
