    Hi guys,
I was looking for a lens hood for oly 14-42 mk1 lens, and faced an opinion, that it could stress the focus drive as the front of these lens is rotating during focusing. What do you think? is there anyone using hood on such lens?

Having been in the camera business for 15 years. (I'm just sayin'!) I really don't think you will hurt the lens in any way. However, I think it would be more prone to damage from being knocked around as any shot to the shade would be transmitted directly to the front assembly of the lens.

In the end... it's your call.

Given how cheap these go for I wouldn't lose too much sleep over trying it.

I always had a 40.5mm screw-in hood with mine. I didn't really use mine though... it's a slow kit lens, which I don't have any real use for. So I sold it with the hood.
