The only 50mm luxury lens was the newFD 50mm f/1.2L

It usually will go for over $1000 on eBay when someone puts one up.

I would suggest that you can get 95% the performance at 8% the price with the newFD 50mm f/1.4

Unless you're rich, then I think it sounds great!

    Thanks for your valuable advice!
On the second hand shop I tried both lenses (50mm f1,2 and f1.4) and I felt that was not a big difference of picture quality on the contrary the price difference was amazing...
I'm not rich but the crazy idea to invest my money on the f1.2 was on my mind...so now I'm sure I will take the 50mm f1.4 for 50EUR....;)
Next I will post some pictures!

There is also 55/1.2 and 58/1.2 in the Canon FL mount (compatible with FD mount). 55/1.2 in the Canon FD mount along side of the 50/1.2. 50/1.2 came in both L and non-L versions. Basically some time during the FD era, Canon decided to brand their top lenses with the L moniker and kept on doing it until present day.

Source: been reading about legacy lenses for a while.
