Has anyone tried the Leica or Leica knockoff collapsible lenses on m43? Is there enough room in the body to collapse the lens, or would it hit the sensor? Does it actually save space (compared to other brands) or is it just a gimmick? Anyone have pictures with the lens attached?

Some collapsible lenses are not recommended to be collapsed on a digital M. I have a Canon rangefinder collapsible that I use tape to keep it from accidentally collapsing into the camera.

    I wouldn't recommend it on m43.

In the day, it wasn't a gimmick... it actually did save space. But there are native lenses m43 lenses that are even smaller.

The collapsible lenses I have will not hit the sensor. They hit other stuff in the camera body before reaching the sensor.

I rubber bands or elastic hair ties on the lens barrel so it can't collapse far enough to hit anything.

If you're interested in one of the collapsible lenses for it's character, go for it. But if you're trying to save space don't bother.
